Waldorf's Challenge (UFO 50 fan boardgame)

Needed for physical version:

Printer and scissors

1 or more dice

2-4 objects for player tokens

1 or more quarters, or a tiddlywinks set

A cup or bowl that fits in the center of the board

Optional: dozens of non-paper tokens

Setup:

Print out the two halves of the board and tape or glue them together

Print, cut out, and glue backs to the fish cards

Print and cut out the Shell tokens, or substitute some others.

Shuffle Fish cards

Place cup or bowl in the middle

place a player token on each Start/Waldorf space

Place 5 Shells in the bowl or cup (known as the "pot")

For a faster opening game, deal each player 2 Fish cards.

Instructions:

Each turn, roll the die and move that many spaces. If you have a Fish card, you may play it to modify the die roll before moving your piece.

Spaces: 

-Waldorf Spaces: The spaces with the walruses on them. Act as the starting space. If you land on one, you may play the jump game to try to win the pot.

-Gain a Shell space: Draw a Shell from the bag

-Gain a Fish space: Draw a Fish card from the Fish deck

-Swap a Fish space: if you have any Fish cards, you may discard one and draw a new one

OOPS! space: Lose a clam and put it in the pot, then go back to the last Safe Space or Waldorf space you passed. If it puts you on a Waldorf space, you do NOT play the jump game.

To play the Jump game, bounce a quarter or launch a tiddlywink from the Jump! square attached to t If it lands in the bowl, you get all the Shells in the pot. Replace them with 5 more from the bag.

The first to earn a certain amount of Shells wins. The default is 20.

Optional rules:

-Bump rule: if you land on the same space as another player, you may bump them one space forward and you one space back before you do what the space tells you to.

-Roll Jump: If the players have trouble with the dexterity requirement for the Jump Game, instead roll the die when instructed to play the Jump Game. Rolling a 6 counts as landing in the pot.
